The 34th Annual Convention of the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM) marked an exciting milestone with the official launch of Performing Arts Medicine (PAM) in the Philippines!

Bringing together experts in rehabilitation and the performing arts, the event featured insightful talks from:

🎭 Dr. Paschenelle Celis – A ballerina and physiatrist, she shared her work on musculoskeletal ultrasound for ballet dancers.

🩰 Dr. Renald Ramiro – A.k.a. the “ballet dad,” he spoke on ballet, dance, and dance rehabilitation.

🎶 Dr. Jennifer Yang – A leading performing arts medicine advocate and physiatrist, she explored the critical role of rehabilitation medicine in supporting performing artists, drawing from her expertise in neurorehabilitation, movement disorders, and her international collaborations in the field.

The convention also saw the official launch of PAMANA PH: Performing Arts Medicine Advocates National Association of the Philippines—a dedicated local group for healthcare professionals, performing artists, educators, and anyone passionate about artist health. "Pamana," meaning legacy in Filipino, reflects our mission to nurture the next generation of healthy, resilient performers.

Stay tuned for more updates! ✨
